Class #10 - Deeper Research


1) Do Now: What are the three categories of hurricane impacts? (Hint: 1) en_________, 2) eco________, 3)hu_____.) Write the six types of impacts that fit in those categories.

2) Analyze this research poster from a group researching Hurricane Gloria.

This group worked collaboratively to create their research poster. It contains information from each  member's research.

  • Power lines down
  • In Scranton, Pennsylvania they only got $216,000 from the state and federal government for damages.
  • Mudslides and flooding on roads keeping people from getting to work.
  • 8 deaths
  • 380,000 people forced to evacuate
  • Personal belongings lost, and spirits shattered.
Not everyone was willing to leave their homes.
