LT: I can utilize the basic tools of iMovie to rebuild the Weathering the Storm exemplar video.
Before we begin making our own movies, each group will demonstrate a full understanding of iMovie’s basic tools. In order to do this, pairs of students (within each group) will work on a practice movie. We’ll give you the elements and tutorials and you will construct the movie. Right now we’re not focusing on acting or shooting scenes. We’re going to work with elements from the video that the Windsor 6 teachers made. Your goal is to recreate the video that the teachers made (visuals, video, sound and text). You will use the following 13 elements to make your video.
iMovie Basic Tools & Steps
- Create a Project and import video clips to an event
- Drag images from folder into iMovie timeline*
- Import video from Desktop to iMovie Event Library*
- Crop video clips and images
- Trim video clips
- Apply a Green Screen
- Add transitions between scenes UPDATE: If this isn't working on your computer, please skip this step.
- Add text to scenes
- Record a voice over (narration) Add a narration to a new scene. You may record this narration over a still image that you place into your movie.
- Add sound and music Add one of the mp3s that you've created in Mr. Farrell's class to any scene in the movie.
- Adjust the duration of an image or text*
*Mr. Shaddox or Mr. Farrell will instruct the class on this trick
